The Production Floor Supervisor is part of the Vermont Packinghouse leadership team and is primarily responsible for various production department; its workload and adequate staffing, process standardization and improvement, and enforcement and, where necessary, development of maintenance, food safety, and HR/administrative rules.
The Production Floor Supervisor responsibilities are to be understood and carried out in coordination with the management team to ensure the organization's success.
Specific accountabilities include but are not limited to the following:
Effective prioritizing of daily and longer term work tasks in coordination with management team and organization's needs, building and empowering team as necessary Maintain mindset committed to continuous improvement and overall company success Effective knowledge of all work tasks for responsible departments Own employee performance through consistent feedback, formal evaluations, and other necessary conversations or actions for all staff in responsible departments.
Act as employee's first official point of contact as representative of VPH.
Own daily staffing and attendance management, daily workloads, and execute daily training plans.
Set goals for teams to execute on in coordination with organization's longer term goals and planning.
Work with superior/management in decisions on hiring, promotions, transfers, terminations, and other organizational changes.
Hold department leads accountable to and empower them to execute on daily forms, production goals, staff placement, and other daily activities.
Help coach and develop interested employees and leads on managerial and leadership capabilities and responsibilities.
Maintain productive and positive working relationship with direct reports, colleagues, and superiors.
Maintain positive morale, effective communication, and teamwork within responsible departments.
Work with team to identify problems in production, and to generate and implement solutions to those problems Act as a liaison between responsible departments and production scheduling, maintenance, QA, HR, and administration Excellent composure and decision making under pressure Education / Experience High School Diploma.
Previous experience in manufacturing, leadership, and systems improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by any employee to successfully perform all essential functions of this job, which may include standing, walking, lifting, bending and climbing ladders.
